Prof. Miquel Salmeron visited our laboratory in the afternoon of November 21st. Prof. Tao Zhang and Prof. Aiqin Wang welcomed him and held a mini-seminar in the 3rd floor meeting room. During the seminar, Prof. Wang gave a brief introduction about our group’s recent results, especially in the fundamental aspects of Bi-metallic and single atom catalysis. Prof. Salmeron and Prof. Zhang further discussed the common interests between our laboratories and attempted to develop more cooperation opportunities. After that, Prof. Salmeron was showed around our laboratory.

Prof. M. Salmeron received his Ph.D. from the University Autonoma of Madrid, Spain. He is now the Director of the Materials Science Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Adjunct Professor at UC Berkeley Materials Science and Engineering Department. His research focuses on atomic scale structure and properties of surfaces and nanomaterials for applications in electronics, catalysis, tribology and environmental science. He has published 439 Journal articles and book chapters with total citations of more than 15200, and h-index of 65.
