On November 9th, 2012, Prof. Masatake Haruta of Metropolitan University visited our laboratory, and made a thorough discussion with our staffs and students working on nano-catalysis and nano-materials.

Prof. Haruta is an internationally recognized scientist in Au catalysis. He has demonstrated that nano-sized gold clusters can act as a remarkable and selective catalyst and the catalytic activity are dependent to the cluster size, preparation method, and support material. During the three hours’ discussion, we exchanged our opinions in Au catalysis and single atom catalysis. Prof. Haruta also commented on our latest results and provided several insightful suggestions.
