Academician Zhang Tao was recently awarded the 8th Chinese Chemical Society (CCS)-China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) Chemical Contribution Award, alongside fellow recipients Academicians He Mingyuan, Lin Guoqiang, and Xi Zhenfeng. The presentation ceremony took place on June 17 during the opening ceremony of the 33rd CCS Academic Annual Conference, where the award was jointly conferred by Academician Wan Lijun, President of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and Academician Xie Zaiku, Chief Engineer of Sinopec Group and Vice President of CCS.
Established in 2008 through the collaborative efforts of CCS and Sinopec Group, this prestigious award recognizes chemists who have made outstanding contributions to national economic development, the advancement of scientific research, and talent cultivation in chemistry. Operating on a biennial cycle, the selection process encompasses nomination, evaluation, and conferral stages, with each session honoring no more than four distinguished chemists.
