From September 1st to September 5th, 2024, the International Symposium on the Industrial Applications of the Mössbauer Effect (ISIAME2024) was successfully held in Kitakyushu, Japan. This conference brought together Mössbauer spectroscopy academic experts and scholars from 15 countries, evolving into a grand event for academic exchanges and collaborations. The conference carefully selected 3 tutorial lectures, 8 keynote speeches, 22 invited talks, 11 contributed talks, and 38 poster presentations. Moreover, exchanges were carried out around 14 themes, including batteries, energy, corrosion, the environment, advanced materials, catalysis, glass and amorphous materials, inorganic materials, magnetism and magnetic materials, metals and alloys, nanomaterials and technologies, medicine and biosciences, superconductors and lattice dynamics, methodology and instrumentation, and synchrotron radiation. These comprehensively demonstrated the latest progress and research achievements of the Mössbauer effect in related fields.

Eleven members from our laboratory, including Academician Tao Zhang, Researcher Yanqiang Huang, Researcher Junhu Wang, and Researcher Xuning Li, participated in this conference. Among them, Academician Tao Zhang was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "Application of Mössbauer Spectroscopy in Single - Atom catalysis: Opportunities and Challenges" at the conference. In the speech, he elaborated in detail on the latest application achievements of Mössbauer spectroscopy in the field of single - atom catalysts. Researcher Junhu Wang gave a tutorial lecture entitled "In situ/Operando Mössbauer Spectroscopy in Water Oxidation and Sodium - Ion Battery", introducing the research progress of in - situ Mössbauer spectroscopy in the fields of water oxidation and sodium - ion batteries. Researcher Xuning Li presented an oral report titled "Probing Single - Atom Catalysts by in situ/operando Mössbauer Spectroscopy", introducing the unique role of in - situ Mössbauer spectroscopy in the field of single - atom electrocatalysis.

In addition, to encourage outstanding young scholars to devote themselves to scientific research on the Mössbauer effect, the Young Scientist Best Paper Award was selected after the conference. Our laboratory's doctoral students Ruru Chen, Yaqiong Zeng, and the post - doctoral fellow Jian Zhao who had completed their post - doctoral research were honored with this award.

During the conference, Deputy Director Yanqiang Huang presented a bid report for the International Symposium on the Industrial Applications of the Mössbauer Effect in 2032. After a vote by the International Mössbauer Effect Executive Committee, our side successfully won the right to host the International Symposium on the Industrial Applications of the Mössbauer Effect 2032 (ISIAME2032).
