On December 6, 2012, Present chairman of international combustion society, German National Academy of Sciences-Prof. Katharina Kohse-Höinghau from the department of chemistry at Bielefeld University visited our group.

Prof. Katharina’s research focuses on combustion chemistry and laser analysis of reacting systems. She has served as the President of the Bunsen Society and is President-Elect of the International Combustion Institute. In 2008, she was elected to the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and in 2007 she received the Cross of the Order of Merit of the German Federal Republic.

Under the leading of Dr. Ning Li, Prof. Katharina visited the laboratory for the synthesis of bio-fuel and characterization. After that, Dr. Ning Li gave a brief introduction of the progress of our group on the synthesis of jet fuel range alkanes. Prof. Katharina was very interested in these fuels and wanted to have cooperation with our group on the combustion chemistry of these new bio-fuels.
