For the first time, Gao Peng, a shixiong in my lab, invited me to his wedding. He’d like me to give him a performance in the party. I chose to sing a song for him and his bride. I searched for the Thai song that often is used in wedding party from internet, found a marvelous song, and sent him the music. But he didn’t receive it. So I needed to sing without music in that day, pity! The second time, I joined a cooking game in dragon-boat festival of DICP. To make an extra score for my team, I showed a Thai song. The third time is in Chinese party anniversary day. My lab joined the harmonic singing contest. I also am the one of them. We all practiced very hard and eventually got the first runner up as the prize. And the later time is in the welcome party of DICP summer camp 2011 on the beach.
For the latest time, prior to be that show, I practiced hard because they are not songs in my language. I asked my friend to write pinyin for the lyric, listened to the songs for many times, and tested singing to my friends. When the date came, I stood on the stage with confidence. The light on the stage was so intense that I couldn’t see anything. I felt glad to hear the first applauding sound. After the show, my friend said “you are handsome tonight”. I answered “Mm, just tonight”. Haha! This is a quite good experience for me.
